The Beauty of a Springtime Wedding
I haven't done a wedding photography post for a while so I thought I'd upload a few images from a brilliant wedding a little while ago. The day went really well and everyone was so happy as you can see on everyone's face. I started the day at Poppy's house as everyone busily prepared for the fast approaching ceremony.
After taking this image I knew it was going to be a good day, a lovely father and daughter moment, smiles all round.
Soon bridesmaids were ready and keen to take some photos. Willing volunteers is always much appreciated when taking photos on a wedding day. The colours of the flowers and dresses just went great and suited the lovely spring day perfectly.
Not the sharpest and most colourful photo I've ever taken but if you're looking for a "groom seeing the bride for the first time" shot that is it! What an ecstatic expression.
The ceremony begins and still there's smiles all round. (Actually I don't just like willing volunteers I like willing volunteers and lots of happy smiling faces.)
Details in the small things shouldn't be missed either.
But it's not all about the smiles, this picture says a lot too.
Next, to the park for some photos. Get the obligatory family photos then it becomes a lot more fun taking photos with the bridesmaids and ushers.
I used my really good f1.4 lens here. I love the photos it produces, a really nice depth of field but it's quite hard to work with I can take a while to make sure the right part of the photo is sharp. But thankfully I had patient subjects so all was well.
And the smiles are back.
My favourite part of the day, photos of the couple, no interruptions. A couple with plenty of ideas is great and Poppy and Sam certainly had lots of shots we had talked through before the day.
Sometimes the reception can produce some pretty bad lighting but here the bright, colourful, pink theme continued nicely and as you can see there was plenty of smiles right through until the end of the night. (Well, and some tears thanks to some emotional speeches!)
It really makes me want spring to come back round again when looking at photos like this. Time to get a few more weddings booked and watch the smiles come back out again.
